Murali Nair, Founder

In India, I grew up in a region called Kerala. I lived there with my family on a farm with hundreds of coconut trees and huge rice fields. Kerala is the birthplace of Ayurveda and was therefore a part of my everyday life. When I was sick, my mother would collect Tulsi leaves from the garden to make me a tea. We used fresh, homemade hibiscus paste as shampoo.

We ourselves were part of nature and discovered our treasures in it. We were taught to always look after it. Just as important as the love of nature was the love of fellow human beings: my father, who owned the only car in town, drove all the children in the neighborhood to school when it rained, and the family doctor treated the poor for free.

This childlike inspiration of ecological and social connection is what we want to achieve at āsmi Ayurveda - a lifestyle brand with authentic products, developed with Ayurvedic experts, that has a climate-positive impact.

tea tins

Our high-quality tinplate tea tins are made by Klann Packaging , a traditional company based in Landshut, Bavaria. The tins are painted in a family-run business in Öhringen, which ensures that the paint on the tin is BPA and cobalt-free. Klann sources its tinplate from the ThyssenKrupp plant near Koblenz and, with a recycling rate of 93-95%, can ensure that the packaging is regional and sustainable.

Klann Packaging is the last remaining European manufacturer of such cans.
